White borders were removed and the each sheet was folded in half horizontally and the halves were glued together to create double sided strips that were folded and bound into the comb shape, with the yellow honeycomb texture on the outside and the black illustrations within. Alignment, order, and corresponding back and front images had to be precise for the illustrations to line up in the final piece.
